fetch people from other pages comments for more viral effect

Postby alphamount » Mon Mar 28, 2011 5:25 pm

Will there be the possibility in the near future?
To get the people who wrote the comments on other pages.
I think this could make a lot of sense. Because it could increase the viral effect. Because when people write the comments, they are also usually more active. And it is important not only to have many fans but also active.
What are the chances for such a Implemetation?

Yes, I've already been thinking about that. It should be a simple matter since when you look at the wall we already know who was posting.

Thanks for the quick implementation.

One small request I would have still.

I think, currently only the people be the respective first Comment page included in the folder. On Fascebook but you can also view the earlier comments.
On my favorite site Depeche Mode :-) (http://www.facebook.com/depechemode) I can see on the wall on the 1th Page (in Flirt without "Show More") 20 posts with more than 10,000 comments. Flirt takes only 400
Would it be to get a large expenditure of the remaining people?
It would be ideal, for example, when at the point where in flirt now that icon with the number of comments in each case is a button (or menu option) with "fetch all people " from this post. So you can choose yourself from which post you want to have all the commentators.

We might know ahead of time how many comments a post has without actually knowing who the commenters were. You can force the download of everyone who commented on a post by clicking the disclosure triangle to reveal all the comments (or just click the button that shows the number of comments, it is actually a button). Facebook might be limiting the number of people that are viewable if it doesn't find them all, or you need to click the Show More button which is also around for comments.

You could download all the content, but for a page like Depeche Mode that's probably not efficient since it will go back to the very first post.

Perhaps you have another brilliant idea on how to get still more valuable IDs.

It's possible to get all the people who have commented, you just need to keep clicking the Show More button. I think what you want is probably a preference to pre-download all the people who have commented and perhaps some shortcuts with a contextual menu by right-clicking on the comment button.

The API is actually pretty good at finding all the commenters, but sometimes it doesn't, usually with really old posts, anything in the last month it should be getting real close to the real number (minus those that have privacy restrictions).

Flirt also has the capability to find all the people that Liked something too, but I haven't gotten around to that yet. Eventually it will probably be the case that you can click the #Likes button and it will show a popover window of who's liked it.

I'll put this on the list, but I'm not making any promises when I'll get to this.
